Infatuation

Could I have really been in love with David Soul ? At the time I thought so. I was a little older than E is now. Maybe 11-12? I remember looking forward to watching Starsky and Hutch every week. Most of my friends liked Paul Michael Glaser, but I always seem to root for the underdog. I even had David's 45 'Don't give up on us baby' with 'Black Bean Soup' on the b side. I listened to it over and over and over again.

When Starsky and Hutch moved from a weekend night to a weeknight and my parents told me I could no longer watch the show, I threw a really huge temper tantrum. Of course I got my way and they let me stay up!

When I mentioned my once love for David Soul to my husband, he informed me that around the time the show was on or soon after, David was accused of wife beating. Is this true? I was devastated.

I loved many actors when I was young, but that's for another post. And now when E has a tantrum about staying up late to watch her idols on TV, I will be able to empathize. Yeah, right. "GET YOUR ASS IN BED BITCH!" just kiddin.

I never watched Starsky and Hutch...but I was in love with Luke Duke. I know everyone thought Bo was the hottie, but I had a thing for Luke. And Face, on the A-Team. He was hot, too :-)

My husband's cousin had a baby with David Soul's son. Apparently both father & son are, in fact, raging assholes. Sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe Shaun Cassidy is still dreamy...

And...I don't remember ever being in love or infatuated with tv stars...except: Wonder Woman. I wasn't in love with her---I just thought she was beautiful, and perfect, and I wanted to be her...or just like her.

Wonder Woman!

We weren't allowed to watch too much TV growing up. So I never got attached to any tv stars, but I did get wicked crushes on two boys in my neighborhood instead!

I just heard one is divorced. YAY! I say that because they both ignored me when I was a kid.

David Soul apparently did beat his third wife, Patti Carnel, when she was seven months pregnant. He was arrested, and hustled into anger management shortly thereafter. (Twisting the story further, Ms. Carnel was the former wife of Bobby Sherman, who played Soul's brother for two seasons of "Here Come the Brides.") This was post-S&H, and Soul was drinking heavily at the time. It's all pretty disappointing, really.

addendum to pb's comment: and in addition Bobby Sherman is probably one of the nicest guys you could ever meet so Patti really blew it; (unless there's skeletons in the closet none of us will ever know about). I never did like Patti though. I thought she was a little snot but that's just from reading her answers in tiger beat!! haha. She sounded clueless and spoiled to me. Maybe I was just jealous and hated her for marrying my man then dumping him for a jerk!!! I never would have had a chance at Bobby but a girl can dream can't she?

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.
You clearly know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on
just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something enlightening to read?

Have been on a nostalgia jag today, reading about my teeny-bopper crush, Bobby Sherman. I still like his 70s pics, and he actually sounds like a nice person. So the songs sucked...It was still fun at the time.

Wonder Woman Rocked! I liked the comic books and the series.

We all do stupid things when we are young and we will forever pay for those actions for the rest of our lives. I can say that Patti is a good person who lived in the limelight years ago but enjoys her privacy and is much more like you and I than you think
