Just 5 Freakin Minutes!

"Can you people leave me alone for just 5 freakin minutes?!"

"Can you people stop fighting for just 5 freakin minutes?!"

"Can I just use the computer for just 5 freakin minutes (or an hour)?!"
"Can I use the bathroom in privacy for just 5 freakin minutes?!"
"Can you stop those words from coming out of your mouth for just 5 freakin minutes?!"
I know I am a horrible mother, using the word "freakin" while yelling at my children. E tells me it is a bad word and not allowed in school. Well, this isn't freakin school! She is allowed to say "Dang", go figure.
The last day of school was Wednesday. I thought, for some delusional reason, that when the kids were done with school, I would have more time for myself. Ha ha ha ha!
It seems my children are not as self sufficient as I hoped. Yes, E will "babysit" T for an hour in the morning while I sleep in, after working late the night before. I am lucky for this, I know. But as soon as I get out of bed, usually before, it's..."Mama, can you help with this?" or "Mama, can you do this?" or "Mama, I need someone to play with me!" or "Mama, he hit me!" AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
I love my kids and I love to spend quality time with them. I just want an eensy-weensy, itty-bitty bit of time to myself everyday. Mostly, I want to spent that time writing and blogging. Is that too much to ask?
As I draft this post in my "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" notebook, they are actually being good. We finally got the pool going and in between their arguments they are having fun swimming.
Fortunately, there are a few weeks of day camps coming up for both. And I talked E into attending the FREE Summer Rec program, one or two times a week. The program starts late June and runs from 8:30am until 1:30pm Monday through Friday. The kids just kind of hang around the playground, playing or go on Field trips. T is too young to go this year, but I do far better when just one kid is around the house.
Were back inside now. E just came to me and said "Mama, we are going to my room to make a movie with my new camera, so if you hear screaming, it's okay." Should I be worried?

Hot Off the Press

Family Newspaper written by my 10 year old daughter E.

When I read the second page aloud to T, my 4 year old son, he started to cry...."You're not going to send that to Suzy are you?". I think he has a tiny crush going on. He wants everyone to know he really does wear pants.

Fairy Garden

Again, I have had no time recently to write, blah, blah, blah, nobody wants to hear my excuses, so I won't bore you with too many details. One thing that has taken up some of my time is my miniature garden.
Every other year or so I change the houses in it. I have mentioned several times that I don't like gardening and when I spend time outside, I am usually doing something that can be done inside like reading or writing. I do, however, like to do craft projects and one of my favorites is making decorations for my mini-garden. It started out with a mini log cabin and out-house which is the photo on my side-bar. That house lasted a few years then needed to be condemned. Next I built a wooden house and barn, I never liked the house but loved the barn. I was glad this year when the porch fell off the house and I could change it again!

This year I am turning it into a Fairy Garden. The kids and I painted and embellished small wooden bird houses. We also added doors to cover the bird holes.
This past weekend I dug a whole for a pond. I wanted something I could clean easily so I just used a plastic container which I can take out to clean as needed. Perhaps when Wal-mart has a sale at the end of summer I can buy a real mini-pond with a water pump, but since I am broke, the old container has to do.
This is how it looks so far. I would like to add colored glass rocks, the ones you put on the bottom of fish tanks, in and around the pond eventually. I also plan on putting a small fence around it with a arch where our wild roses could grow over at the entrance. I plan on adding more houses and at the kids request, a schoolhouse.

Miscellaneous Manure

(I drafted this May 7)

As I write this post, I am sitting on the sidelines of a grade school softball game. It’s E’s 10TH Birthday and as a way to be nice, (besides the presents, homemade strawberry shortcake, brownie pizza for school, friend over after school and upcoming sleepover party) I took her to her friends game. I am the only one not actually watching the game. E played last year but towards the end of the season she was hit in the face with a ball ending up with a bloody split fat lower lip. She is still afraid to play.

I am in a bad mood today, maybe because I am tired, but more likely because my period is due. I’ve been bitchy and short tempered with T all day, apologizing every other sentence. Right now I am thinking mean things about almost everyone I see. I would say everyone, but I did say Hello to one woman who I like. I can’t remember where I know her from, but I have a feeling that I liked her. Of course, as I sit here judging everyone else, I am the only one sitting by myself. I see a couple moms from my town but I don’t have anything in common with them and since I rarely talk to people just to have someone to talk to or to prevent myself from looking like a loser, I will stay sitting where I am and wave from a distance. I might also look less like a loser if I was typing on a Dell Notebook instead of writing in a black paper notebook with the words “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” on the cover in bright hot pink letters. My pencil is also pink. (Really the notebook and pencil are E’s)

Answers You’ve Been Dying to Know
1) In my Vermont Views 4 post, I asked what is missing from the picture of the mailbox. The person who came the closest to the correct answer was Amy Cates . What I was looking for was NEIGHBORHOOD. The sign says “Neighborhood Watch” but there are no neighbors! The owner of the mailbox doesn’t even live there. He put the sign up when he also put up a new mailbox after vandals smashed the first one. He is building something across the street from the box, but I can’t tell whether it is a garage or house yet. I am waiting for the police to come to my house and question me about the pictures I took.

2)In my post One of These Husbands is Not Like the Other the answer was B) Mullet. Fold my Laundry Please was the first to guess that one correctly. Yes my Hus had a mullet when I first met him. His hair was gelled and spiky on top and when I first saw him I thought(hoped) he was a British Rock Star! (Just slumming it in a dive bar in the country ya know) Don’t really know why I thought that. I can’t really judge hair as I did have a Mohawk once a long long time ago.

Oops, I am such a goof. I just noticed I am sitting on the wrong side of the field.

Happy Mothers Day

This is the card T made for me in preschool. I told you all I look young for my age. E didn't want me to show you the card she made for me.

Sorry I haven't been around to visit lately. I have been busy with the end of the school year crap. I am going to hopefully catch up on all my favorite blogs soon.
