Fairy Garden

Again, I have had no time recently to write, blah, blah, blah, nobody wants to hear my excuses, so I won't bore you with too many details. One thing that has taken up some of my time is my miniature garden.
Every other year or so I change the houses in it. I have mentioned several times that I don't like gardening and when I spend time outside, I am usually doing something that can be done inside like reading or writing. I do, however, like to do craft projects and one of my favorites is making decorations for my mini-garden. It started out with a mini log cabin and out-house which is the photo on my side-bar. That house lasted a few years then needed to be condemned. Next I built a wooden house and barn, I never liked the house but loved the barn. I was glad this year when the porch fell off the house and I could change it again!

This year I am turning it into a Fairy Garden. The kids and I painted and embellished small wooden bird houses. We also added doors to cover the bird holes.
This past weekend I dug a whole for a pond. I wanted something I could clean easily so I just used a plastic container which I can take out to clean as needed. Perhaps when Wal-mart has a sale at the end of summer I can buy a real mini-pond with a water pump, but since I am broke, the old container has to do.
This is how it looks so far. I would like to add colored glass rocks, the ones you put on the bottom of fish tanks, in and around the pond eventually. I also plan on putting a small fence around it with a arch where our wild roses could grow over at the entrance. I plan on adding more houses and at the kids request, a schoolhouse.

I can't believe T and E want a schoolhouse out there. Someone has kidnappened your real children and replaced them with nerds.

Those are just adorable. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE something like that. I used to make little miniature "houses" in the crooks of tree roots out of sticks, leaves, and pebbles when I was a kid. This is much better.

Too kyoot, Heidi! I never knew your Profile photo was something you made, I thought it was country clip art! You are very talented! I am not that clever! I prefer nature that I can photograph. It's much less effort! Haha!

p.s. my Sister finally gor her RN licence and has her first official job, she's 51 years old! Who says you can't go to college at 48 and start a new career! You go, Sisterdear!

Absolutely delightful!!! There used to be miniature village near us, opened for years, but it just closed down, unfortunately. I'd never seen anything like it again... except for now.
What a beautiful job, and fun to involved the kids!
