Global Warming Shmarming

It snowed for three days straight. Then we had sun with highs in the teens for two days. Now it is pouring rain and 42 degree's out. Weird.
Sorry I haven't been around visiting this week. I have been busy making cookies, candy, potato latkes(pancakes) and trying not to eat any, I mean many. I had the most trouble not eating too many latkes. They are just soo good with all their fried potatoey salty goodness. Yum.
I also worked the last two evenings, but have Xmas off tomorrow. We are celebrating Hanukka too so that has taken up a lot of my time. It takes 5 seconds for the kids to unwrap their gifts each day from grandma and another hour for me to get the damn toy out of the packaging.
So, Merry Christmas, please wish me luck not to want to poke my eye out with a pin while visiting the inlaws tomorrow. Oh, and Happy Hanukka too.

Ah, my child - when you grow as old as I you may someday enjoy a home with an attached garage. After decades of cleaning snow and ice off cars at our charming old but garage-less place in the sticks, since downsizing we have decided that this suburban garage idea (plus living on a paved road) is a thing all people should have built into their social security package.

Sorry about work - you're probably working more because I am off the schedule enjoying my excellent newly-installed left hip.

Even sorrier about the in-law visit woes, but I'm not taking any responsibility for that one. Another benefit of living longer - should you not enjoy their company(or even if you do) your in-laws eventually go away.

Oh my goodness, look at all that snow!

With regard to kid toy packaging: they'll use 20+ twist ties, 8 sheets of cardboard, and occasionally they'll throw in a couple of phillips screws. All to hold something in a box. The toy itself may be designed to climb walls, be thrown at a target, etc. It may be designed to withstand pressure & destructo-kids. And yet, they still package it that way.

Eggs & regular light bulbs, on the other hand---we put 12 eggs all close together in a flimsy egg carton. They'll break if you look at them wrong! Lightbulbs fare far worse---we don't even close/seal the end of their package, and they've been known to slip right out the bottom & shatter.

Go figure...

That snow is beautiful, but after our recent venture I really appreciate how much work it is. (and we were just visiting.)
