I repainted our living room about a year ago and have gone through four different curtains, so far.
The first curtains, shown in the first photo, I loved in the store. I liked them for less than a week at home so I gave them to E. This is how they look hanging in her room.
The second pair... I guess I had a thing for ribbons...
Everyone, including me, thought the third pair was lovely. The only problem was that if we unrolled them to block out the sun, I was the only one who could roll them back correctly. I also began to wonder if they would look better in a baby nursery because...RIBBONS!
These are the curtains that hang now. Nobody, except me, likes them. Hus thinks they're too dark. E says they don't block the sun well enough. T couldn't care less.
I'm off to straighten out the silhouette pictures on the wall.

I love the shade like ones. I have always wanted to try some of those shades, are they that hard to roll back up?
I am not a curtain fan. I am more into blinds..with the hugh glass I have all over I have to have some that really block out the sun along with the heat! I love wood blinds. No, I don't have those. (not my house)but I do have wood grained mini metal ...LOL
I like the shade ones too. I just have the blinds that came with the house. I'm that not creative.
I do not like curtains at all. I'm sort of OK with a valance or a roman shade. But to me, they are all dust catchers and make a small room look cluttered. I have faux wood blinds - also dust catchers. I need the ones that are built into the windows.
I am with you I like these the best. Good job, it is so hard to pick curtains I understand.

I hate all my curtains too. I have black leather ones in the bedroom to block out the sun. You can imagine what my mother thinks of those.
I have the same issue with curtains. Maybe I need to learn to sew or something, but I can never find what I want. At least for a price I'm willing to pay. & I have a hard time finding a good selection.
We have been trying to come up with a proper window treatment in our family room since the kids have been progressively destroying the original ugly horizontal metal blinds (which were custom made, obviously because do you think I can find the appropriate size of roman shade ANYWHERE?). Our baby is now 9.
So now we've just ripped out the blinds. Still searching for the perfect curtains too...
Our bedroom was the same.. I picked out heavy dark velvet curtains that eventually fell down and we never picked them up.
Sheesh :)
I like the brown shades, maybe just change the ribbon. But the last are a great, easy option too.
